Our guides are the reason people come back. They know the trails, yes — but more importantly, they know people. We sat down with three members of our guide team to find out what a typical week really looks like.

Tobias, Alpine Guide, 7 years with Acme: "My week starts on Monday reviewing weather forecasts and trail conditions. By Tuesday I've confirmed the route, packed the group kit, and sent participants their packing list. On the day itself, the first hour is the most important — that's when you read the group, adjust the pace, and make sure everyone feels included. The moment a shy participant suddenly laughs out loud at something they discovered? That's why I do this."

Lena, Family Program Specialist, 4 years with Acme: "Kids are the best hiking partners because they notice everything. I spend a lot of time designing the 'discovery moments' in each family program — a particular tree to touch, a stream to jump over, a bird call to identify. Parents often tell me afterward that their kids talked about the hike for weeks."

Jonas, Team Building Facilitator, 3 years with Acme: "The debrief at the end of a team event is my favorite part. You see people connect what happened on the trail to what happens in the office. Someone who struggled to ask for help on a steep section will often say: 'I do that at work too.' That insight is worth more than any team workshop."
